Guiding Families Towards Home
What we do at IHN

What We Do

At Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County, we take care of homeless families. It’s that simple. Having lost their home, a mom or dad with children comes to us in crisis. They need a safe place to sleep. They need meals. And they need compassion. Our network of churches and synagogues provides these resources so that families can focus on moving forward.

Working with our Director of Social Services, milestones are set and families are connected with the resources they need to help them get back on their feet. It may be a job referral service, housing assistance, budget workshop or counseling. The goal is to help families find a home as quickly as possible while providing the services they need to become stable enough to secure and maintain it.

IHN focuses on three service areas to assist homeless families:

"Words are truly not enough to express my sincere gratitude for the help and resources provided to me and my family during our crisis and time of need. Without you and IHN's generous support who knows what the outcome would have been for me and my daughters. You and Interfaith Hospitality Network will always have a special place in our hearts and I feel truly blessed to have come across the generosity and help when I was truly down on luck and pessimistic."
